Description

Solution / action at User Level
-x End of test Triggered at the end of the distillation. The result is displayed in the Run menu and stored in the Result Menu. Wait for cooling of the liquid temperature displayed in the Run screen to at least 50°C before removing the flask and cleaning the test equipment (see section 1. end of test). Wait for temperature sensors decrease to ambient temperature before starting a new test.
-x Spec temp. not found Temperature specification selected in the run Product deleted. Modify Product parameters: select another temperature specification or remove it (see section 1. Products ).
-x Spec volume not found Volume specification selected in the run Product deleted. Modify Product parameters: select another volume specification or remove it (see section 1. Products).
-x The waste bottle is full. "Empty the waste bottle". The analyzer manages the volume available in the waste bottle. Regarding the number of test performed since the last disconnection of the waste bottle this should be emptied. - Empty the waste bottle and reconnect it. After 10s of absence, the volume available in the bottle is automatically reset to initial value (let the analyzer switched on) - If the waste bottle is empty, disconnect it from the analyzer for 10 s to reset the remaining volume - Check the volume of the bottle configured (see section 1. Products).
-x Liq. tmp > start tmp. "Repeat the test". The sample temperature is above the Start temperature configured in the run Product parameters (automatic control of proper sample preparation). - Check sampling and sample preparation recommendations (see section 1. Sample preparation). - Check maximal liquid temperature of the sample allowed at the test starting in the run Product parameters (see section 1. Products). - Repeat the test taking care to sample preparation recommendations.
-x Please, let the door closed The door is opened during the test run. - Close the door.
-x Please, place the bottle The waste bottle is removed during the test run. - Connect the waste bottle to the analyzer.
-x Vapor Pressure out of limits. "Repeat the test". Vapor pressure min - Check the flask is not cracked or chipped. - Check the flask neck is properly connected to the measuring head. - Check the measuring head is properly connected to the fixing arm. - Check the general condition of the bevelled part of the measuring head (see section 1. Condenser tube). Call for Technical Service to replace thermocouple assembly if needed. - Check the tightness of the vapor pressure circuit (see section 1. Vapor circuit measurement). - In case of leaks detected, check the general condition of all seals (see section 1. to section 1. Testing of the fire extinguisher). Replace seals needed. - Perform calibration of the vapor pressure circuit. If the failure persists, call for a qualified technician for further investigation.
-x Vapor Pressure out of limits. "Repeat the test". Vapor pressure max>VapPmax limit (VapPmin is part of the test regulation parameters). - Check the flask capillary is not clogged. If it is the case, clean and dry the flask (see section 1. end of test). - Restart the test taking to the test preparation: volume and use of pumice stone, recommanded diameter (see section 1. initiating test). - Check the vapor pressure circuit is not clogged (see section 1. Vapor circuit measurement). - Clean the condenser tube if needed. - Perform vapor pressure measurement calibration. If the failure persists, call for Technical Service for further investigation.
-x High initial sample temperature After calculation, Start Smp Tmp is checked regarding characteristics of the product. - Check sampling and sample preparation recommendations (see section 1. Sample preparation). - Check maximal liquid temperature of the sample allowed at the test starting in the run Product parameters (see section 1. Products). - Verify positioning of the temperature measurement thermocouples (see section 1. Measuring head control). - Verify the temperature measurement and perform the calibration if needed. - Repeat the test taking care to sample preparation recommendation.
-x High initial head temperature. "Repeat the test". Temperature of the measuring head too high. Wait for the temperature of the measuring head decreases down to the ambient temperature and restart the test.
-x Unstable P-baseline. "Clean the flask and repeat the test". High pressure variation at test starting. - Check the flask capillary is not clogged. If it is the case, empty the flask, clean and dry it again (see section 1. end of test). - Check test preparation: with/without pumice stone (for B100), sample volume (10 ml ± 0,3 ml volume / 5 ml ± 0,3 ml for B100); bubble free (see section 1. initiating test); quantity and characteristics of pumice stone: 6 to 10 grains, dry and calibrated: featuring diameter from 0,8 mm to 2 mm.
-x Water suspected. "Obtain a dry sample and repeat the test". Vapors detected before the distillation of the product starts. Repeat the test with a water-free sample (see section 1. Sample preparation).
-x Unstable boiling. "Add pumice stones and repeat the test". High pressure variation during all the test. Repeat the test taking care to the sample preparation recommendation regarding (see section 1. Sample preparation): - sample and equipment temperature. - test preparation: with/without pumice stone (for B100), sample volume (10 ml ± 0,3 ml volume / 5 ml ± 0,3 ml for B100); bubble free. - quantity and characteristics of pumice stone: 6 to 10 grains, dry and calibrated: featuring diameter from 0,8 mm to 2 mm.
-x Unstable boiling. "Repeat the test". High pressure variation when the FBP occurs.
-x High slope Slope of the curve higher than 5°C/ml. It is difficult to obtain reliable reference method compliant distillation data on such products (typically mixed or contaminated samples). Treat reported data with care.
-x Calibration to do. "The date of a calibration is elapsed, the test can be started but please, renew the calibration". The date of a calibration is elapsed. A test can only be started if the unit is set to allow the test. This can influence the result so the message is stored with the result (bit coded). Please perform the requested calibration: X specifies the calibration type, indicated in the warning page: X= 3 Atmospheric pressure. X= 4 Vapor pressure. X= 5 Vapor & Liquid temperature sensors.
-0 SD Card not detected. "Verify the presence of the SD Card on the control board". No communication with the SD memory card connected on the Control Board. Switch the analyzer off then on again. If failure persists, call for Technical Service for further investigation. Switch the analyzer off then on again. If failure persists, switch the analyzer off, set main power switch at the rear in off position, disconnect the analyzer from the mains and remove covers. Refer to Service Manual and remove SD Card memory on Control Board. Check SD Card on a computer and format it in FAT if there are corrupted files. Reinstall SD card. Reinstall covers, power cable and set main power switch to ON position. Switch the analyzer on again and restart test. If failure persists, call for Technical Service for further investigation.
